How does Maison Asrar DXB smell?
Nearly everything here is a citrus fruit. Orange and mandarin give sweet, juicy peel, bergamot adds a slightly floral, sparkling edge, and grapefruit in the heart keeps the bitter zest going. Ginger is the only note in the first two tiers that is not a citrus fruit: it adds a warm, tingly lift that keeps the zest from feeling thin. Together the top and heart should feel sunny, bitter-sweet and sharp, with no creamy note to soften them.
Two notes form the base: lily of the valley and musk. Lily of the valley is normally a heart note, so placing it at the bottom suggests the green, dewy freshness is meant to reach all the way down to the base, with musk adding a soft, clean cushion. Read straight through, the list is bright, green and clean from beginning to end, with nothing sweet or heavy to weigh it down.
