How does Maison Asrar Masterpiece smell?
Apple gives the top a crisp, juicy fruit note, and clove and cardamom pull it toward spice: clove is sharp, warm and slightly medicinal, cardamom is brighter, aromatic and a little citrusy. The heart goes further down that path. Cinnamon is sweet and warm, geranium is a green, leafy floral, and lavender adds a clean, herbal freshness. On paper the fruit softens the spices at the front, while the heart keeps them going and adds an aromatic edge so the spice does not turn heavy.
The base is vanilla, Ambery and cedarwood. Vanilla is the creamy, sweet part, cedarwood a dry, pencil-like wood, and Ambery is a collective term that usually points at a warm, golden, resinous-sweet accord instead of one named material. The list names no citrus fruit and no musk, so the Hesperidic and Musky labels are probably the brand's shorthand for a bright opening and a soft, skin-like finish. You can expect a warm, sweet-spiced, woody impression with a clean freshness running through it.
What Maison Asrar's own page says about Masterpiece
Maison Asrar's product page for Masterpiece gives its family as hesperidic and musky.
It also puts words of its own on three of the notes: vanilla (sweet, warm, soft), cinnamon (spicy, warm, sweet) and cardamom (spicy, warm, elegant).
Who might like Maison Asrar Masterpiece?
Someone who likes a spiced, sweet-leaning note list: clove, cardamom and cinnamon alongside crisp apple, softened by vanilla and a dry cedarwood floor. It would also suit a reader who wants lavender and geranium to keep the spice from getting syrupy. For comparison, check other Maison Asrar note lists that combine warm spices with a vanilla or amber base, and see how each one handles the fruit and the herbs.
Masterpiece and the rest of the Maison Asrar range
Maison Asrar Throne Eclipse lists the same named notes as Masterpiece: apple, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, geranium, lavender, vanilla and cedarwood. Only the order and the collective terms in the two pyramids differ.
The link with Maison Asrar Icon is apple, cardamom and cedarwood. Masterpiece sets clove, cinnamon, geranium and lavender beside that, the other one clary sage, jasmine, lily of the valley and amber.
Both list apple, lavender and vanilla. Maison Asrar Soirée goes on with praline, plum, toffee and ylang-ylang; Masterpiece with clove, cardamom, cinnamon and geranium.
