How does Maison Asrar Tornado smell?
Fruit leads, but with a dry edge: peach and lychee are juicy and soft, davana adds a sweet, fruity-herbal, slightly boozy note, and saffron brings a dry, leathery spice that keeps the fruit from being plain. The heart is softer and more atmospheric. Osmanthus is a small blossom with a fruity, slightly leathery character, incense adds a dry smoke, and cashmere is a collective term for a soft, smooth, fabric-like warmth, not a material.
Tonka, musk, vanilla and cedarwood make a sweet but not sticky base: tonka and vanilla provide creamy sweetness, musk is clean and skin-like, and cedarwood adds dry timber. On paper this is a plush, sweet fruit-and-vanilla blend with a thread of smoke and spice through the middle, which is probably what the oriental label refers to; sweetness, smoke and spice are the usual markers of that style.
What Maison Asrar's own page says about Tornado
Maison Asrar's product page for Tornado gives its family as oriental and sweet.
It also puts words of its own on three of the notes: incense (smoky, warm, atmospheric), saffron (spicy, warm, opulent) and davana (warm, herbal, sweet).
Who might like Maison Asrar Tornado?
Anyone who wants sweetness with texture: juicy fruit, a pinch of saffron, a little incense, then a vanilla-and-tonka landing. For comparison, look at the other oriental and sweet pages in the range, especially any that pair fruit with incense or saffron, and compare how each one handles its base.
Tornado and the rest of the Maison Asrar range
Maison Asrar Faris Al Arab overlaps in cashmere, tonka, musk, vanilla and cedarwood. Its own notes are liquorous accord, amber, cane sugar and labdanum, against peach, lychee, davana and saffron here.
The link with Maison Asrar Hikaya is saffron, cashmere, musk and vanilla. Tornado sets peach, lychee, davana and incense beside that, the other one bergamot, praline, rose and caramel.
Both list saffron, tonka, musk and vanilla. Maison Asrar Vanilla Rouge goes on with red fruits, chocolate, rose and ambergris; Tornado with peach, lychee, davana and cashmere.
