What labdanum is
A sticky resin gathered from the rockrose (cistus) shrub, labdanum smells warm, ambery, leathery and sweet, with animalic and balsamic tones. Forming the core of many amber and chypre accords, it anchors the base. It pairs with patchouli, vanilla, oakmoss, rose and benzoin, giving blends a golden, resinous warmth.
