How does Maison Asrar Soudfa smell?
Peach softens the top: bergamot and mandarin supply citrus, and the peach adds a soft, velvety fruit sweetness gentler than the citrus. The heart is a classic floral trio. Rose and jasmine are full and sweet, and neroli, the blossom of the bitter orange tree, adds a clean, slightly green, sweet-bitter brightness. Together they make a polished floral centre in which none of the three should dominate the others.
Chypre usually means a citrus top over a mossy, earthy base, and here patchouli and vetiver carry the earth: patchouli deep and leafy, vetiver dry, grassy and rooty. Sandalwood smooths the corners with a creamy woodiness. The list suggests a fruity, floral start that turns to a dry, earthy, softly woody base, with the chypre label doing the structural work and nothing sugary added.
